Case study: Pitango

Pitango is one of the most well-known venture capital funds in Israel
Aim: To raise capital from limited partners in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Process: We started our research by identifying strategic and financial LPs who have available USD outside of China.
We conducted approximately four roadshows per year for Pitango’s partners. In most cases, we arranged trips to Israel for Pitango’s potential LPs. During those trips, they visited partners and their company’s portfolios.
We participated during negotiations and closing document work.
Results: Pitango has raised significant capital from strategic and financial LPs in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
China is an essential place for Pitango to find LPs, as well as a place for Pitango to help the portfolios of their companies with selling and marketing in China. Therefore, Pitango partnered with Asia Direct so that the latter can introduce Pitango in the Chinese market.
